Hi everyone

Has anyone else had their approved medical examiner tell them to get a lung xray done BEFORE showing up for the medical? I am just wondering if that is normal, since the xray would be done at a hospital that is not on the list of approved practicioners on the Canadian government webpage. They want us to go get it done, then bring the xrays to the medical appointment, along with our forms. Has anyone else been asked this?

I did my Xray a week after the medical, at a hospital nearby the designated medical practitioner. Then had to deliver the photo's at the doctor, who combined his papers with the photo and send them (in my case) to Vienna.

It sounds ok to me.

Okay, thanks! All this application stuff has made me so paranoid that I'm going to do something wrong!

We also had our xrays done somewhere other than at the DMP's office - didn't even think about whether it was an "approved" facility as far as CIC was concerned.  The DMP sent us there after our exam, so we went.  Apparently CIC had no issue with the results, at least not that we were ever made aware of.

I didn't do my x-ray at the DMPs office.  When I called to schedule my DMP appointment they asked if I wanted to to the x-ray before, same day or after.  x-rays were sent to DMP office and he reviewed and forwarded to CIC.

I spoke to the X-ray department at our local hospital in the UK and they told us what would happen is they would provide us with the x-ray film and a filled out report the day of our x-ray appointment, and we would then take those with us to the approved medical practicioner appointment. I guess they do it because the medical offices don't always have the facilities to do x-rays on the premises? Anyway, it seems to be sorting itself out okay. If only the police report would do the same! Grrr to system backlogs!
