Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

Yeah, I have seen also couple Dec 2008 application transferred to local office.
It looks like things are getting faster - hopefully not just my illusion.

I presume december and Jan should move fast cause there should be fewer applicants who applied to Buffalo directly

Hi Guys

I got my Medical request yesterday ...Atlast I got that long waiting thing.  I will be doing my mdiclas here and my family can do it in India. I need some suggestions from you  guys.

I got my work permit extended and was planning to apply for an Open work permit for my spouse from India. But I doubt if they will reject the applictaion on the basis of the PR medicals .I want to bring my family here at the earliest without waiting for the PR.Please advise me the options which I can do to bring them here. Can I apply for a visitor visa and bring them and then once the PPR will be recived I can send the PP from here. Is that a good option or the Open work permit option? Is it correct that the Open work permit applictaion can be rejected? Please advise guys.

Also how long will it take to get the PR once the medical is done?I heared that it will take approximately 3 months.IS that corrrect?

I really need some help from u all to bring my family here since we have been seperated for more than 2 years.

Thanks

I was given 60 days to provide certificates... Shocked
No medicals yet...Eh, I hoped that letter is medicals...

I thought "eh" is something Russians are born with...Smiley. After phone conversation with Russian police information center I realized I didn't lose my "eh". Smiley

Folks, I have a question you may be able to answer. I've just sent full application to Buffalo office. I'm currently on H1-B in the US. I'm planning to quit my job in May, which means I'll lose my status in the US. Do you know if I can come to Canada as a visitor and stay there the rest of the time while my application is processing and than get PR? What complications can I get here?

Do you know if you are asked for an interview, whether they will interview in Canada? If not, how will you return to the US?
Do you know if you dont get your PR after 6months, and need an extension whether they will extend?

I think there can be multitude of complications. In my opinion, they will not give you a visitor's visa to go stay in Canada until your PR decision is finalised because you do not have a status in Canada now. You could get a visitor's visa nonetheless and go in and stay for 6months without working. Wait for someone else to reply because I do not know about this scenario too much.

I already have a canadian visa which is valid for one more year. Also, as I know, I can extend my stay in Canada for 6 more month. So, in total in would be 17 month to get PR - should work.
