Would you say this is a good sign?

Immigration Canada has informed us by letter that our application is complete and that our local immigration center will contact us concerning our PR status. Is that good or bad?

We already sent in medicals and everything was received and it's an inland application, if anyone has some insight it would be of great help. Thanks.

Most likely good... You will most likely get a letter from the local office saying the principal applicant needs to come for an "interview" with photos, landing fee (if not already paid) and travel documents... this is a landing appointment.

How long ago was your application submitted?

Thanks for your reply! We submitted the application Nov 24th 2008 they started processing Dec 24th, we got AIP June 2009, then we had to do the expired medical again which we sent in mid Aug, they thanked us for them in Sept and got the most recent letter today.

Have you received a letter from the local office yet?

If not, why don't you just call the CIC call centre to confirm that this is the completion of the application, and that you/partner will be landed soon?

-Press 1 every time you hear the answering service, do this 4 times
-Then press 0 to speak with an agent. 
-Often the agents are too busy, and it'll say you can't be transferred.  Keep calling til it says something like, "the current waiting time is 4 minutes".
-Wait for the agent, and once you get them, have the client ID handy, and just ask what's happening.

I'm sure you are done, the timeline seems normal.

Hi AMB, we just got the letter from our local office telling us they are in the position to grant my husband permanent residence. They asked for him to bring pictures and passport. Are they going to interview both of us and do you know how long it takes and the kinds of questions they will ask? Thanks in advance.

Also they didn't give us a specific appointment time, just to come Mon through Fri between the hours of 9 and 3. Is that normal?

I believe that is the "landing letter".  Even though they call it an interview, it's not a interview about your relationship. They have made the final decision to grant him permanent residence, the day you go will be the day he becomes a permanent resident.

The only questions they'll ask is confirming the address, asking if anything has changed since the application (criminality etc), and then just explain his rights as a permanent resident.  The pictures will be for the PR card, and the passport is to put the "confirmation of permanent residence" into, and stamp the date.

I'm almost 100% sure this is the case.  If so, congratulations!
