Working in Canada

I am a Recruitment Consultant and my wife is Client Migration Consultant sshe works with Bank of America training clients over the phone and face to face with business/banking applications.

We are considering moving to Canada but would like to know what opportunites are available to us within our professions

I have heard that it is best that you secure a job and then get the employer to apply for a work permit. Could someone let me know how long the procedure would take.
