Hi,

I came in January 2011 and I done certificate course in Aug 2011.

My study permit expire on November 2011.

I am waiting for my Graduation certificate from College , It will be issue on Nov 2011 . and after I will apply for Post graduate work permit.

Now a days processing time for Post graduate work permit is around 90 days.

Mean while my study permit will exoired in Nov. and I will receive my work permit in around january or february 2012.

So , what should I have to do in this case because my study permit expire so Can I live in Canada after Nov. 2011?

Is it legal to live in canada after my study permit expire, as I will be waiting for Work permit.

Should I go to my country back and wait for work permit?

If I want to stay here what is the next step for me after expiry of study permit?

Hi Mrp1986,

As you've said, your study permit will expire on Nov 2011 and you will apply for a PGWP on Nov 2011 too.

Is that right?

As long as you submit your application for PGWP before your study permit expire, I guess you're fine.

You will be on Implied Status.

"Implied status: Students who have completed their studies and have submitted an application for a Post-Graduation Work Permit, when they are in possession of a valid study permit and a valid Off-Campus Work Permit, may continue to work off-campus until a decision on their application has been made.
