There is an open work permit for spouse. I applied for it this january. But until now, they haven't issued my visa yet. I'm wondering why. I'm also in the Philippines.

Please note the OP is in Canada, and applies to Vegreville for her renewal, her spouse is in the Philippines so would have to apply there for a TRV and open work permit.  So she can't include an OWP for him on her renewal.

I'm sorry I don't know the other terms you guys here are using. What is an AOR? My husband is a skilled worker in ALberta. His work permit will be expiring this november. I sent my application to the embassy January 17. Got a letter Feb 9 for my medical.. did my medical feb 12 and got another questionnaire feb 24 to prove my relationship to my husband because we weren't really "together" as husband and wife for long. He went home to marry me and went back after that vacation. SO they asked me to send wedding pictures.. videos.. etc.

Oh ok. Sorry I might confuse her. We do have a different situation then. I guess she and her husband can't apply at the same time. LMO and work permit is needed in his application. If he is to apply in the Philippines.

Thank you. I'm getting a little worried though. I wonder why it's already 4 months. My friend got his spousal open work permit after 2.5 months of submission, 2 wks from submitting his answers to the same questionnaire the visa officer sent us.

It asked about every stage of our relationship. Where and when did you meet, Who introduced you to each other, Was your marriage an arranged marriage, etc. You are asked to list your out of town trips and attach pictures from courtship to your wedding day. Who attended the engagement party and wedding day. Who knew about your relationship (friends and relatives. You need to list them and what occasion your spouse met them). You are also asked to attach documents that support your relationship including your e-tickets and receipts during your trips as well as your honeymoon.

Pretty tough right? I'm a little worried because I submitted the answers to the questionnaire last March 7, 2011. Until now, they haven't replied.  Sad
