work visa cwop- how does that affect future chances?

Hi everyone,
In 2008 I successfully applied for a two year work permit to go to Alberta. However, things did not work out with me and employer for several reasons and I returned home after a month. On my return from Canada, I reported to the embassy where my visa was canceled without prejudice. My question is: How will this affect my current application for work permit?

Any idea if this will affect my application negatively or positively?y
