CIC states that:

"You are eligible to apply for a Work Permit from within Canada if any of these situations apply to you.

You:

•applied for Permanent Residence and was determined eligible for Permanent Resident status;"

My question is at what stage after applying for PR through PNP are you determined to be eligible for PR status - is it after getting provincial nomination certificate, or after receiving AOR or after medicals.

Roughly how long after medicals is PR visa issued?

Thanks

I don't know where you took that quote from but I think it refers to that an open work permit is available to people applying inland after first stage approval such as inland spousal sponsorship or live-in caregiver.

For PNP applicants, after you get your PNP nomination, you are able to get a work permit without an LMO being needed.

ok thanks Leon! I think you are right that the quote is referrring to open work permit applicants via spousal/ caregiver.

Thanks for letting me know about not needing LMO for PNP applicants!
