A friend of mine came to Canada with a work contract for a year and 5 and a half months later the company he was working for was sold, so he stayed with a job, he had a Canadian girlfriend and they got married and now she is pregnant, they want to apply for sponsorship but he is scared because he never told immigration that he was not working anymore, and he is afraid that when they apply for sponsorship, immigration realizes that he was not working since 4 months ago, so he does not know what to do, so he asked for advice and I don't know what to tell him. so please anybody who has any kind of good knowledge in this please help out. he'll really appreciate it...

When you say 'your friend'... do you actually mean yourself?

The 'friend' now does not have legal status in canada, is this correct? What is your 'friends' home country?
When did he first come to Canada, and how long has he been here now?

Frank, all your previous posts indicate that this 'friend' is you. Unless you and your friend are in identical situations.

CIC will find out the truth. You need to be completely honest about everything. If this is a MOC for you and you are just trying to get PR to Canada, you will be found out.

On all your previous 37 posts, you have asked exactly the same questions and everyones answers have been the same. We were trying to help you and yet you keep asking the same questions over and over again - perhaps hoping for a different answer?

If this is not a MOC, then just tell the truth. If you haven't worked anywhere else since your employer shut up shop, then just tell CIC that, (however if you have worked somewhere else, yes, they will find out) what are you so afraid of?

I have a question. I came to Canada with a work permit, 6 months after they sold the company and the owner was not able to continue with the contract, I never said to cic about this, my work visa expires in december 2011, I ve been living with my fiancé and we are getting married and she is gonna sponsor me. so, do you think I should tell cic about this? or will they refuse my application if I do? should I just fill everything like if Im still working there? or say that the company was sold and the new owner didnt want to continue with this contract? please I need help.

What should I say or do?

Hi, I got to Canada last december with a work permit for 1 year, I met a Canadian woman and we started a relationship, my visa expires in december 2011 but  we are getting married before. so I just need to know what should we do or have before she applies for sponsorhip? what do you recomend me? I mean, we do have a ral relationship and she is even 6 months pregnant so, we jsut want to do everything right. please I'll really appreciate your help.

No, it's not me. why should I lie about it? hehehe. Im just trying to help my friend. but anyways it does not matter. I don't think he has worked somewhere else. he s been unemployed for 4 months now. but would you tell me how can they find out? Im not afraid, my friend is a little bit. cause his wife lives here and it,s normal to be afraid. don't you think?

I doubt that people will research certain things for there "FRIEND".

No one knows who you are Frank. This is the internet. It's not like we can see you.

To Cleo and Pinklady maybe in the off chance he met a friend in the exact same predicament as him I had a few of those on my VO processing thread and I just advise the friend the same as I advise the original person Grin

But Frank same info applies to your friend as it applies to you

Ok, so Visa expires in Decemeber. Tell him and his wife to submit an inland application for PR before the Visa expires and then he'll be on implied status I think.
If not, the other alternative is for your friend to return to Guatemala and proceed with an outland application. Or submit and outland now and return to Guatamela before the visa expires. or submit an application to extend the work permit and stay until you get a response.
