good day! i received my work visa last dec 2008 valid for 2 year, to work for an employer in alberta. if my prospective employer fails to get me started, say for a year, can i use the visa for another employer and another province? this financial crisis is their reason for the delay of deployment.thanks for the help

No, you can not use this work visa for any other employer.  If you want to change employment, you need a new work permit for the new employer.
