work permit how to

Hello every one
I am Egyption citizen, I have a bachelor degree in business administration, and work at Telecom Egypt, lets say I am in Canada on tourist visa at my relatives, can I search for a job and then adjust my status from a tourist and get a work permit ?
or how does it work ?
