Hi,

I'm a Canadian citizen, and I have married last November.  My wife is not a Canadian citizen nor she has a permanent resident, so we have applied for her permanent residency in March 2010.  As we haven't heard back from Immigration Canada, and her current status as a visitor is near its expiration, we are considering applying for a work permit for her instead of extending the status as a visitor until she gets approved for the PR application.
I have heard that in order to apply for a work permit, one needs to apply for Labour Market Opinion.  Doe s this apply for our situation?
What would be the best/fastest way to apply for a work permit for my wife?

Please advise, and thank you very much in advance.

Hi -

It depends a little on which country your wife is from and what type of job she is going to be doing.  Need a little more information.

Thanks.
