My brother is interested in coming to Canada to work for a year and staying with my husband and I in Calgary.  Because he is under 25, does anyone know if is he eligible for a work permit?  How long would this usually take to obtain?

Well there is a BUNAC open work permit for students under 35 and non students under 30 good for a 1 year work permit, not extend able.  This years quota is gone, but he could apply in December for next year.  Other than that he would have to find an employer that will get a Labour Market Opinion from Services Canada that there are no Canadians/Prs available for the job, and have advertised extensively.   Make take up to 6 months for a yes or no from Services Canada if it is not on the priority list.
