Hi All,

This is Deepak and I am citizen of India.I am on Student permit in Canada with a TRV stamped on my passport.

I have been hired by a Canadian Employer and I also have a positive LMO.

I wanted to ask if I can apply for Work Permit at Port of Entry since I have a postive LMO and a TRV.

Please let me know.

Regards
Deepak

It is worth a try. And if you're not allowed to apply for the WP at the POE then you can always send the WP app to CPC-V.

Check the application processing times on CIC website. I think you will be better off flagpoling and get the permit done at POE.

 @  jobseeker,

I am not sure if an Indian citizen like me would get the Work permit Stamped at the Port of Entry with valid LMO and Contract with Job offer from Canadian employer.

I read thru one of ur post saying that u r not from a visa exempt country to enter Canada.

So I think we both sail in same boat..

Could you throw light if I can put thru my Work permit application at the port of entry for Work permit.

I am in Canada with a TRV stamped on passport nd valid long term 2 yr Study permit.

One of our Senior members rjessome said that if one has a valid US visa and a valid multiple entry Canadian visa, then one can "flagpole" and obtain the WP at the POE. I tired the first time when I changed employer but haven't tried again.

Hi I am a South African Citizen with a great offer of employment in Canada. So it is not a visa exempt country. Can someone confirm if you can "flagpole" if you have a valid TRV and LMO?

Thanks in advance.

Deepak, did you manage to get yours?
