Hi,
I am a new nursing graduate with a Bachleor's degree from the USA. I came to Toronto in November and got a job offer to work at a local hospital as a nurse. The HR dept. told me that it will be easy to get everything approved since i am a nurse and the CNO (College of Nurses of Ontario) has approved for me to take the exam and work as a nurse.

I arrived at the airport on friday and was told that i cannot have a work permit because my LMO isnt ready. I was give till april 4th to leave the country. I called my work that same day. They are now saying it might not be easy to get the LMO because of the recession.
I have sacrficied EVERYTHING since November to leave California, USA and come work in canada. What are the possiblities I will get denied? Should I contact a lawyer? Should I try and dispute it at the boder next week? PLEASE HELP ME.

1.  Until you have an LMO there is no way you will get a work permit.
2.  Also you know that you have to have an Immigration medical to get the work permit as well?
