  Hi

OK, I work 4 days a week so realise I need to work out the equivalent work history on 5 days a week BUT what is ONE YEAR classified as?  I get 5 weeks holiday where I work so do I calculate my time over 47 weeks/year?

Also getting proof of employment from past employers what do I need?  I only have payslips for current job  not for past work.

Thanks

1.  CIC considers 1950 hours a years equivalent of work.  So you divide the no. of Part time hours by 1950 to determine how much of a work year equivalent.
2.  You should read the Appendix A instructions, although if you are applying under SAP you don't require the letters yet, but here is what you need.

"7. WORK EXPERIENCE
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:
• notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers,
accompanied by an English or French translation
• original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers.
Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company's full
address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company's official
seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent
in each position
• your main responsibilities in each position
• your total annual salary plus benefits
• the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the
company
• a business card of the person signing
If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a
written explanation.
