Hi all,

I have 2 and a half years of work experience as an IT consultant but prior to that I worked as a software engineer for 11 weeks for a large corporation but didn't like it at all and so left without notice. As I already have enough work experience for my application, do I need to include this 11 weeks of work in my work experience section (Schedule 2, page 2)? Will the government require a reference letter from them at a later stage? Please advise.

Thanks,

Derek

Hi Derek,

Since you have enough work experience so you can avoid to write anything about these 11 weeks of your unpleasent emploment. You can simply write on form that you were unemployed during that time.

Thanks.

Which NOC you are going to apply?  You need reference letters or proofs of employment etc for only those job which you are claiming for points. If you are not claiming for points of your 11 week work, theres no need to worry for that. You must write that you worked 11 weeks on company in your background decleration Personal details section but there no need to write in Employment section about that 11 week Job. Good luck

Hi all,

Yes, so as I have worked one job as an IT Consultant for 2 and a half years, it is ok if I just put this one down on my work experience sheet and put my 11 weeks of work and my 6 month internship in the personal histroy section only? I am applying under NOC code 2171.

Thanks,

Derek

Dear Friends,

Salaam.

I have a question about the work experience letter.
I used the 4121 NOC code (University Professor). I'm asking the university about work experience letter. They gave me a letter which does not contain all details that CIC mentioned, e.g. main responsibilties & duties and the total annual salary plus benefits.
And one more problem. I should accompany the work letter with business card od the person who signed the letter, but there is not any kind of business card among the heads of university. So what should I do?

What's your suggestion to overcome this problem. Can you ask your lawyer about it (if any).
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
E.B.

Hey guys!

I have a question regarding work experience.

I am a registered nurse with two years of continuous work experience and have applied under FSW using this job category. However, prior to becoming a nurse, I also worked as a credit authorizer under NOC 1114 for three years. Now here's the question, do I also have to provide a certificate of employement for my credit authorizer job or do I just have to provide one for my nursing experience since this is the category I applied for under the FSW fast track system? Just thought of asking because I think I remember reading in one of the topics here that said that you only have to produce/submit a certificate of employment for the position (included in the 38 job cat.) that you applied for under the new processing scheme for FSW.

Another reason why I am asking is becasue I want to claim points as well for my credit authorizer job since it falls under job category A. I am wondering if I can claim points for this by merely putting the NOC number in the application form and writing the duties and responsibilities without submitting an employemnt letter given the technicallity that it is not the job category I directly used to lodge my paper under the new scheme for processing of FSW application.

Appreciate your two cents on this case, guys.

1.  You really shouldn't hijack other threads, start your own and you will be more answers.
2.  Nope to get the credit for your credit authorization job, you will need an employment letter from the employer outlining your duties.  Otherwise the experience won't be counted.
