Work after finishing university

Hello,
I've almost finished my degree in Canada and now I am looking into getting a job here.

At the moment I have no idea where to begin. I know that I'll be applying for a Post-Graduation work permit.
If I understand it correctly, it will only allow me to work in Canada as long as I don't leave the country. And if I do leave Canada, I will need a visa to get back.

I will appreciate it very much if you can give me some answers that will guide me in the right direction.

1. If I apply for a Post-Graduation work permit in April, is there a way I will be able to go to another country for a vacation in the summer? (It's been a while since I had one)
2. Where can I go to ask these questions? A federal office, a provincial immigration department, get in touch with a visa office?

The most confusing part for me is this permit & visa combination. What should be the first thing I apply for?

- You will need visa to re-enter the country. When does your current visa expires? If it has duration on it you can visit other country within that duration.
2. Where can I go to ask these questions? A federal office, a provincial immigration department, get in touch with a visa office?
- Contact your nearest CIC office. To locate a neares CIC office go to any Canada government building and ask about it at the reception. Or browse through the CIC website.

- Nothing to be confused here. Visa is required for enter to Canada. Permit is required to do anything inside Canada like study, work etc.
I will recommend you get your post graduation work permit first. Then apply for visa. They will give you visa for the duration of your work permit. Once you have work permit it is usually easy to get visa.
You can apply for visa to Seattle Canadian embassy or Buffalo or check the CIC website for more information and information on post-graduation work permit.

I am about send my documents to Buffalo to get a new visa.
The money order that I already have is payable to "Canadian Consulate General".
Some web pages say "Consulate General of Canada". Is this an important factor, and should my money order be changed?
Other versions I saw were: "The Canadian Consulate General", "The Canadian Consulate-General"

It seems like a small thing but I want to be sure that everything I send is exactly the way it should be.
Receiving everything back because of the wrong word order would be disappointing and time consuming.

- This type of confusion happens. However, I do not have a concrete answer to this. You have to use your judgement here. I checked the Buffalo visa office website and saw that it has The Canadian Consulate-General.
I guess it is not a big deal. As long as it has Canadian consulate general on it they will understand.
If it bugs you too much, you can go to the bank and ask them whether there is any way to change it accordingly.
