Just want to share with you guys. I am on H1B working in San Diego, today I claim lottery for USD$ 250K (250000), after deducting Federal and state TAX (my company attorney calculated), amount will be USD$ (167K) USD$ 167000.
I don't belive when today early morning 6:30AM I went to get cofee at our company street small store and scan my tickets, the store person told me you won 2nd prize (written on lottery machine screen too, even printed seperate too), I sign my lottery ticket and write down my name address and phone number on BACK. the store person scan 2nd time its same 2nd prize winner even I got this ticket from the same store down street at my office in San diego. when I enter in office immidietly I open website megamillions.com and compare the numbers my other colleagues are also happy immidietly my manager call to our attorney that how to claim this lottery.
My numbers are here (2 9 10 16 35 MEGABall 40 (not matched I have 21) just MegaBall not matched otherwise I blast jackpot....!!
I played this lottery 20 time and at the 20th time I got 2nd Prize, before 3times I won only 7 and 10 dollars.
each time I played with USD$5 for single game Quick pick ticket.
I suggested to H1B people play lottery may be you will get jackpot!!
This amount will help me for my POF and even pay some debt like car loan.
I just inform Lottery office and going tomorrow to claim my lottery and get check tomorrow.
For Lottery claim W2 ( I will carry my passport, I797, Calif DL for ID, my SSN card, 1 Proof for residence that will be Socal Gas and Light bill is enough).
My friend suggested to play lottery but he played some time and never won so he left to play more, I start playing when lottery goes higher upto 50millions. I have Power ball tickets (2 tickets each 5 numbers so its 10 numbers on 2 tickets), draw will today but I dont think that my luck will work again for powerball. this amount is good enough right now.
Canada Have any lottery draw like USA have?

 Congratulations!! Canada's OLG offer Max Million lotteries for which the prize money goes up to CAD 50 Million. The lottery winner will get the whole prize money without deducting any tax. Since I came to Canada I used to buy OLG tickets at least two or three in a month but so far I won only FREE PLAY several times. I know I am not lucky for any lottery but still trying.

Congrats Prashant, I am also playing sometime this same megamillions and Powerball but no luck. I seen some indians won some prizes. you can see masslottery.com and winners of massachussets, they won in Millions too (one Mehta won 1millions this year from MA state lottery). Thanks all, tomorrow PST time at 9:30am I will get my money check. very excited never ever seen this much amount in my life (my parents also never seen this big amount).
@ shibuya , If I got 1st prize than I think to donate some amount to my village school only in Zarkhand state, but its not much amount.
I already spent some thousands dollars for this immigration, US GC and maintain H1B but still strugling to be a permenant residence.

Good... go ahead and win JACKPOT!! hey I purchased 2 months ago same megamillions in ohio but no luck man!! so I never purchased lottery...
I will try today's jackpot Powerball... You & Omm give me my energy back to spend some dollars back to play lottery. Very nice and shortcut to earn money (upppssssss too be a Millionaire). I know in the USA lottery money they will pay you instantly after checking all documents and file your W2. Lottery people will ask you for lumpsum amount and installment for some years (they ask for JACKPOT winners only), I read winners stories most of winners get money in lumpsum.
Comon man , enjoy.. now I am going to nearest 7-Eleven store and buy some lottery for todays draw.. if I win I will share (uffff we are not lucky like you atleast I got some amount back thats enough like invest 5dollars and get back 7 or 10 dollars but always I play and scan my lottery ticket its says "sorry not a winner").

Thanks I got Check and they file my tax the ammount is Round figure USD$189k($189000) from 2nd Prize ammount of (USD$250k).
I paid just state and Federal taxes nothing else, Jackpot W2 will not have any problem for H1B status (H1b have own rules but Jackpot prize will not countable as employer income, its count as under jackpot gift etc category).
My attorney count lumpsum amount in hurry but I got more.. I am very happy since last 2 days.

Great, I am working at Escondido and residence at near Poway (but all area you can say San Diego).
I got ticket from 7-eleven East Grand Avenue, Escondido this stroe just .90miles far from my office near W 5th Ave Escondido.
Doesn't matter from where you purchased. Quick pick will generate random numbers so it's all on saaalaa luck.
