My husband has been deported to US and banned for life and he has applied for refugee status in the US.

can I still sponsor him? would the refugee claimant status in the states negatively affect the outland sponsorship application?

Where was he deported from? If it's Canada, then that's definitely not a good thing. If it's from somewhere else, then it's not that much of an issue.

You may be able to be sponsored from abroad if you return to your home country.
