Will Quebec Acknowledge Receipt of Application for CSQ?

Hi all,

I am sponsoring my husband from China; we sent our application to the MICC in Quebec at the end of May and we know that it was signed for/received at MICC on June 2nd (checked with UPS), but we haven't received any communication from MICC itself. Are they going to send an email or something so that we know they have started processing? Will they let us know when they issue the CSQ or will they just send it straight to Beijing and the visa office there will contact us?

Also, how long does it usually take between receipt of application and issuing the CSQ? I read somewhere that applications from the US take about 3 to 4 weeks; is it the same for other countries?

I don't think we got any acknowledgement of receipt from the MICC, but we used a courier to mail it, so we knew it got there. It took about 3 weeks for me to receive the letter saying we were approved, which included the CSQ. I think it takes 3 or 4 weeks in general to be processed.
