Hi,
I was brought to the states by my parents when i was 12. My mother's application for permanent residensy was denied and as a result so was I. I've attained a bachelor's degree here in the US and have been resently married to a US citizen. I've been having problems in my marriage and i don't think it's going to last long; not enough to obtain permanent residency. I want to apply for a Canadian student visa for a post-bacchalaurete degree but i'm afraid I'll be denied due to my overstay here in the states. Will my lack of legal status here in the states hinder my chances for obtaining a Canadian Student Visa?

Your overstay may or may not affect your application for a temporary resident visa in Canada. It would depend on the visa officer.
If visa officer considers that you have previously violated a temporary entry status in the US, then it could be that he/she will anticipate that there is a "likelihood" that you may violate temporary status if issued in Canada.
Or, and this may work for you, if the visa officer sees the situation that when you overstayed in the US way back when you were in your teens and under the parental supervision and control of your parents and thus did not exercise your own will in deciding whether to leave and go home or overstay in the US, then it just might work for you.
Take an aim and see what happens. Just make sure you prepare all your documentary and financial proof prior to applying. In other words, make sure you are well prepared.
