My spouse and I are both US citizens and he is here on a study permit until 2013 and I received an spousal open work permit valid the same dates as his study permit. If we decide to get a divorce, will my spousal open work permit be revoked and would I have to go back to the states?

Thanks.

Yes, it will not be valid as you will no longer be a "spouse"
