Hello everyone,

I am in Canada with my wife who is going to send her outland application package for residency in a few days.
I have a friend who says that once she sends the residency forms her visitor visa status will change automatically?
Can someone tell me if there is any truth to this info?

Change automatically to what?

Your wife retains her visitor status until she is given permanent residence, and the process is not automatic, there will be checks done to ensure the information in the application is accurate and truthful.  Ensure that you keep her visitor status current by applying for extensions if needed at least 30 days before her current status expires.
