Hello,
As of April 5th, my noc code has received 722 complete applications. If I mail my application at the end of next week. Will I still make the cap? I was wondering if there is any time lag between my submitting the application and when it would be considered with in the limit.
Please advise!!

OK. Get out your caluculator. The closest NOC I could see was 724 in 2121 Biologists. Is that the right one? If you check the spreadsheet it shows an average of 2.5 app/day. (Look at the bottom under PROJECTIONS TAB). https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AiJy8Qu8lcQbdGxiSnNhME5sVi1uRlZtUWNhOEFwemc&hl=ar&authkey=CLDXsFA#gid=0 Don't trust that average for your present purposes - Go back through the various postings of totals for your NOC. Record the date and number for the past 5 or 6 entries. Determine how many applications per day are received by CIO based on that information and that will give you an idea of how quickly your NOC may fill. Keep in mind that it could speed up as it nears the finish. You will find a history of CAP TOTALS on this link http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t56962.0.htmlWhat was it my old math teacher used to say??? Math is Truth; Truth is Beauty, therefore Math is BEAUTIFUL! Don't have TOO much fun doing your sums and get your application completed quickly and accurately. Research your Courier Company's efficiency, too. Good Luck.

Hi there, I guess you apply under NOC 2121. The daily estimated average of received applications under this NOC is 2.5 a day. Therefore, it seems you will be on the safe side. Good luck and wishing you all the best, Thalia P.S Hey Pippin!!!!!!!!! I see you are faster than me! LOL! xoxo

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question about backlog of applications. All I could do was look at the time lag between applications received and date of CC encashed. In some cases that was around 5-7 days at the earliest. It is all guesswork, but you could add an additional 7 days worth of applications to the date your application will arrive and that might give you a better idea.

Hey Thalia - that's because I am not half asleep on this side of the world!! LOL I really stress not trusting the per day averages on the NOC applications as they go back to July 2010 and the first two months were quite slow. Looking at the previous month is probably safer.

Seniorss....please help me out...... My question is that if, by the time, my application reaches to CIO Canada and NOC 0631 reaches to its max. cap (as on 5th April it's 926), will immigration officer consider the next NOC category 6242 for my application as I have 3 yrs. experience in this category also?
Also would like to know if I can mention both the above NOC codes (0631 & 6242) in the CIO address label on the envelope cover. Can I do like I did in the label below?
Citizenship & Immigration Canada Federal Skilled Worker Centralized Intake Office Attn: SW 1 – NOC # 0631 & 6242 196 George Street Sydney, NS B1P 1J3 Canada

Yes, that would be the way to indicate your NOCs. I crunched the numbers and figured that 0631 would reach CAP by 14-17 April, based on an average of 8 applications/day. That number has been pretty steady for a few weeks now. If your application doesn't make it in under the wire, they should look at your second NOC, as long as it is in the NOC 29 and and hasn't reached its CAP. Hope you are nearly ready to lick the envelope!

Thank you very much senior. Yes, I am ready to courier my documents Monday morning. I'l use FEDEX Intl. Priority Sevice. Hope that would reach Canada by Wednesday morning as Fedex Claims. Finger crossed.
My next NOC category is 6242 which has just reached at the figure of 200.

Hello Infiant,
I am new to this forum. I request your kind help. My situation in exactly the same as yours. I qualify for both 0631 and 6242. I am getting my IELTS results only next month - Aug 16 or 17th. So I am waiting to submit my application.
But I'm afraid that the CAP for 0631 would be reached by the time I apply (end of Aug).
What should I do/ What was your experience?
Thanks

I am not sure if the category 0631 will reach the cap by the end of Aug... as I see he updated list and there are only 5 applications for the same, even if we look at the categories last year it filled by 26 April which is about 100 applications per month, even if we consider this year it is at the rate 1.5 times even then we are looking at 150 apps per month which will give you time till sep end/mid oct 2011 so I feel you should be safe.

There are only 5 applications which have passed the completeness check. There could be many more which have not yet been opened. I think we'll need to see several updates of the totals site before we can really get a good idea. Wayne.

Hi Wonderlust, My application reached CIO after 0631 cap was filled. Though I mentioned only NOC 0631 on the cover of envelope, instead of returning my application CIO opened my envelope and checked my documents for next available NOC which was 6242. They encashed my DD also but later they sent me NER saying that I dint have enough document support to claim process under NOC 6242. Now it's been 2 months. I am waiting for refund of fee and all the documents including original PCC and IELTS paper. I am not sure if they return back the documents or not. I dont know what to do. If any one experienced this kind of sitaution, please let me know. Thanks. Hello Infiant,

They send back documents through normal post. Normally it is delivered in 2 to 3 months time. U should receive your documents within next one month. Send case specific inquiry to CIO about documents they will give u specific date on which your documents were dispatched.
