No.  You MUST apply for an extension BEFORE your current status expires.  Otherwise you are out of status and have to apply for Restoration.  The 30 days is BEFORE the status expires.

Right but isn't it just strongly suggested you apply 30 days before but you can apply up until the last day if you wish.

^^^ is completely true. There was another time 2 years ago where I couldn't get it out until a day or two before my status expired, and I was under implied status. As long as the application is sent out before the deadline, the stamp sets your implied status in stone.

@ DodgeCharger: No, it's quite alright and I completely understand what you mean. I'm not usually one to make excuses but we've just been through a move, along with having our son, who is just going into the toddler stage. My mind has been occupied and I've been doing all the forms and getting everything needed, but I had also misread/misunderstood the part about the tax slips. I was under the assumption that the Option C printout was enough, but they are saying they need the T4s and other slips as well.

@ rjessome: I was told I couldn't take any action because he was a consultant. They (the MP of the area) said there isn't a board or anything to complain to. Pretty much, they summed it up as, I should have gone through a lawyer and not a consultant.

Thank you all for your help. I just got off the phone with them and they have given me confirmation that I can submit the Option C, along with a letter stating I will be sending the other required slips at a later date. I must then send the additional slips with "Supporting Documents" on the envelope when I receive them, along with a letter stating what they are for.

What???  The MP in your area has lost the plot.  There is a BOARD and the complaint form link I sent is from the Regulatory Body of Immigration Consultants as mandated in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations!!!  Oy vay!  Your dumbas* MP could have sent you to another agency.  Maybe he/she has heard of them?  RCMP!!!!  Fraud is against the law!
