hello folks,

I have a question about my wife applying for a visitor visa. Please let me know your ideas I would really appreciate it.
I am a canada PR holder. My wife is in student visa in USA. She is planning to apply for a visitor visa. Is it a good idea to show reason for visit to canada as to
see husband in canada or
visiting ralatives in canada for christmas break.

I was thinking she should just show her reason for visit as visiting relatives in canada for christmas. i was thinking if she mentions reason for visit as to see husband in canada than she might be refused visa as the visa officer might believe she wont return back. Any idea folks I would truly appreciate your respones.

Thank you Steaky. So which one would you suggest as a good reason to apply for visitor visa from my spouse.
- to visit relatives for holiday
- to visit husband who is in Canada as a PR.

Thanks a lot. I would appreciate any ideas

She should be honest about why she's visiting.

CIC knows you're a PR. So I think she needs to say that one of the reasons for her visit is to see you. If she just mentioned visiting relatives for a holiday and made no mention of you - I think that would sound very far fetched to a CIC officer. Don't you?

If she wants to mention visiting relatives as well - I think that's fine. But I think she definitely needs to mention you.

Just my two cents...

I think you should probably say she is visiting you, as well as the relatives for the Holidays. The only thing is that they might ask her to provide the address/ phone numbers of those relatives and they might also contact them to verify they exist and anticipate to see her. Lots of luck to both of you.
