Hi,

My wife is studying in Quebec since an year. I have completed MBA from U.K and recently came back to home country for Internship. My question is, Can I 'now' apply for a dependent visa to Canada?

My wife has already applied for CSQ as a primary applicant, will it be affected in any way if I apply for a dependent visa.

I also heard that there is no such thing call Dependent Visa. Dependent go on Visit visa, and after reaching Canada they change it to dependent Visa. How correct is this?

If you are visa exempt to Canada, you can get a copy of your wives study permit and along with your marriage certifcate, apply for your open spousal work permit as you enter Canada.

If you are not visa exempt to Canada, you can either apply for the open work permit from outside Canada or you can apply just for the TRV and after entering Canada, you can apply for the open work permit.
