Hi, So happy to see some applicants from Kenya!!!!

I just submitted my application to NS on August 13. I'm currently in the US. On my application, I requested that they preferred visa office is Buffalo (I live in Atlanta). Do you think I should change it to Nairobi? Will I be required to appear in Nairobi in person?

Mwongel - Habari !

Pls ask this question to the seniors in the forum.

Rupeshhari, Leon, Professional 1, aanbaan etc etc - alternatively check some old discussion threads - where ppl have asked about Buffalo as opposed to home country CHC.

Regards

Why can`t the CIC take up the issue with how slow VO Nairobi is so slow. You see everyone has got a plan settle with kids early enough in Canada or other related plans. It is easy to settle with fairly young kids than 8 and above kids i.e in schools, system e.tc

Hi Josiah,
Yes, for real, it is so slow not only in Nairobi , but also in other African visa offices. I also applied in another African visa office in January 2009 and i am still waiting for medicals and have not heard anything from them. Those who applied with me from Asia have landed and are already working. Can you imagine  how slow the African visa offices are.

I know you will not agree with me, but read this,  a friend who is presently in Canada told me that , visa officer prefer Asian immigrants to African immigrants. At one point i was tempted to agree with her , because we do not have many applicants like in the Asian region , but our processing time is longer than theirs. For example if Nairobi receives 10 applications and An Asian visa office received 100, Nairobi should process faster than the Asian Visa office. But the reverse is true. That is the plan truth. These are things nobody will ever tell you , but it is the truth in the hiding.

At this point we have no choice than to wait.

thanks

I want to advise all applicants from kenya to set up a new thread tagged " KENYAN APPLICANTS, LET'S UNITE"

By that you can keep track of whats going on in nairobi and exchange notes.

My 2 cent!
