Does any one know why the Canadian gov has chosen to only accept 500 applicants per category. Does this mean there may not be taking any applicants next year. Does any one know how they calculate how many people they will accept each year should i be worried about next year that is when i wanted to put in the application. Pls help...

Why 500?

'Coz they don't require much 'new' applications... having a huge backlog already to fall back on. The intake quantities of new immigrants into the country remain the same... just that fresh cases aren't encouraged.

-If your application is already lodged with CIC -- this regulation could be beneficial to u.
-If u haven't applied yet -- hurry up... the 500/NOC quota is too minuscule, could be a goner in days.

Hi Anumatri,

1. CIC, Minister Kenny, some parliament members, VO's around the world have received numerous sadistic letter which also contained language of deep despair and protestation  from the applicants.

2. They need more funds now from the already hanging applicants as getting funds from applicants whose files have already gone into process is safer and does not create any pressure.

3. CIC now wants to move forward but only by clearing the backlog so that there would be no controversies about their operations with the new applicants or  in coming days.
