Acc to the forum trends the current waiting is 7-8 week for dd encashment. U should get an answer by sept end hopefully. just checked up with my bank and the dd has not been encashed...!

The first communication issued by the Canadian immigration Processing Post is the Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR). The AOR provides the file number assigned to the application as well as the official receipt for the processing fees paid to the consulate. The issuance of the AOR clearly indicates that the application was received at the immigration processing post and that a file has been created and opened. The AOR does NOT contain the assessment decision for the case.
Canada's immigration policy states that the Canadian Immigration Visa Office will accept/receive of the application if, at a minimum, the application includes:
Signed and completed application forms;
A signed statement indicating that the information provided is complete and accurate;
Payment of the applicable fees;
Evidence of English and/or French language proficiency, either in the form of the results of an approved language test or a written Statement of Language Proficiency.
If all of the above requirements are met, the Canadian Immigration Visa Office will forward an official Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) to the sender's mailing address.
If any of the above requirements are missing, the application will be returned to the sender.

Hi guys,
I am an August filer, too (Aug10th pick-up date). As I am in Canada, I phoned CIC yesterday and was told that there is nothing new in my file (I have a file as a student),but Sydney is now finishing applications received up to July 28th. Good luck to everyone!

I have sent my application on 09/09/09 received by NS on 10/09/09...
I guess it takes now a days 4-6 weeks for them to respond. I have keyed in my email address on the application so I am guessing they would respond via email.

My application was filed and received by NS on 30 July 2009, and i have just received the AOR (email from NS) requesting me to proceed with the next stage of application, anyone who applied for this period received their AOR ? If not, i guess, u should be receiving soon too. Best of Luck!
