Hi,

I am from the UK and I am applying for Permanent Residency from within Canada, where i have been living and working for over 1 year.  I am putting my Common Law partner on the application form too and she is from the USA.

I believe I have the option to use the Buffalo or London office.  Which should I choose?  I would think Buffalo is best as they will have easier access to my girlfriends information if they need it.  Also, does she need to do an English test too?

Thanks

If you were ADMITTED to Canada for 1 year, then you can choose Buffalo, if not the visa office will be London.  She doesn't require IELTs. Don't forget to include the information that confirms she is C/law.

What do you mean exactly by Admitted?

I came here on a working holiday permit.  Before that expired I transferred onto a work permit relative to my job and have been in the country over about 56 weeks now.

I assume if I can use Buffalo I should, as its closer it will save time in posting documents.
