        You can sand your passport by  Indian "Speed post"  to your lawyer in canada.
And then your lawyer can sent your passport to new york visa office.

I want to share my experience to all the forum members who wants to get the PP fom India.

I got PPR to submit my and my dependent PP by Jan 01'2010. I live in US and my spouse in India. One of my wife's frd was coming to US...so, I asked my wife to give her PP and the representative (notarized) letter to her friend who is coming to US. She landed safely yesterday with the PP. Thank God I got the PP from India.

I hope this will help for all those who wants to get the PP's from india. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.

Finally i got through, I re-applied for Canadian tourist visa & they granted me, leaving soon for Canada

Don't you still have to go to US to get the stamping or can you land while in Canada (i.e., arrive as a tourist and then get the stamping and landing done?).

Has no one tried the third country option as someone suggested UAE.

Is there no way, you guys can petition your government to change the rules? As someone said earlier, this doesn't seem to be an issue for other countries. If the rules are changed then it would make it easier for people to leave the country rather than going through all this hassle.

I am in the UK. CIC New York has asked for my passport. The letter stated that they will only mail to USA/CANADA/BERMUDA

I read all of your posts. Has anyone convinced CIC New York to send the passport to a third country? someone mentioned UAE as an example?


Options as I see them:

CIC New York mails passport back to me in UK

Travel to canada as tourist - is this even legal?

travel to the usa as tourist - and wait

I contacted several immigration lawyers/passport visa service companies but they won't help.

anyone got any ideas?

why dont you send it to the NY office and change your mailing address to a friend's address and then he mails the passport to you in the UK.

Don't know anyone in canada (anymore) who could do that. Lots of UK people go over for one year. So they are all back in the UK now.

I am sharing my own experience so that those who find themselves in the similar situation will get answers.

I applied for my Canadian permanent residence from Germany
I left Germany after my medical examination.
I informed the Canadian embassy at Berlin about address change.
I get a letter from the Canadian Embassy Berlin requesting fee payment, the passport to be sent by
post, they also ask me to create a Fedex account.
FedEx India refuses to create an account for me because I am not a corporation.
I inform Canadian embassy about this, they ask to give address of person who lives in Europe whom I trust
I give address of a person in England
I go to DHL to send my passport by courier, they refuse first, but after a discussion they refer their manual and find out
that the passport can be sent, I saw the manual myself
After a week, my friend in England gets my passport by registered post.
He sends the passport by UPS
I get the passport after a couple days in Mumbai, THE COURIER BOY WAS ESCORTED BY POLICE!!!

My passport crossed international borders four times in less than a week, without a problem!!!

"He is also from Mumbai I guess" who is he that you are talking of?

I have couple of questions. You say that you can send from India to overseas and that you sent to Germany because you applied from there. But why does your status part say that your visa office is London?
Why didn't you send to Germany straight and then they return the passport to your friend in UK. Why did you have to send it to a friend to send to Germany (This doesn't make sense even from an economic point of view).
Why is it that many many indians believe that they can't send passport out of the country and why do courier service not allow it in general? Thanks for correcting this misconception.
