Hi Friends,

A very happy new year 2011 to all!

Can someone suggest as to which professional degree between Indian CA or USA CPA has more relevance/value in Canada.

The second question I have is about aveneues/resources/consultants/companies where either of the above two can easily find a job in Canada..specially Toronto.

Regards,
Panks

Only Canadian CPA. Few years back USA CPA was all right to get job till they found out that there were few takers for Canadian CPA.  So No US no Indian CPA.

Neither.
As Explorer rightly said - none of them would add any value to your portfolio (though the US CPA or CMA is a shade better). Here, a Canadian CGA instead would/could take u places...

I would say you should try to look for any exemtions availble to obtain CGA. For ACCA members CGA have some reciprocal membership arrangements.

i am still waiting for the results of my last three papers.

hi honeyber,
if u are applying under fsw, having enough experience would help u a lot to claim maximum points, it doesn't matter whether in an audit firm or in a private co.
as you would know, the noc 1111,would have been the nearest for auditors and accountants but unfortunately it was removed from the list since 26june 2010..however, there may still be a chance to find an employer so can apply with an arranged employment under fsw.  Grin

Hi Panks,

Based on the stories i heard, one can get a job based on the foreign qual. but to climb up the ladder one needs to have Canadian qual.
