I am planning on applying for the Quebec Certificate of Selection and I will need to do one of the the following exams to prove French proficency.

Has anyone done any of these exams, can someone tell me which is easier? Also, what kind of preperation did you have to do for these exams?

[1] Test score adapted from French Quebec (TEFaQ)
[2] TCF for Quebec (TCFQ)

Did you do one of them? If so which one?

I am very interested in knowing what methods did you use to prepare for the exams (I am assuming that you were/are not a native French speaker).

Thnx much.

My husband as principal applicant took TEFAQ because we only place he could take the exam was alliance francais and they did not conduct the TCFAQ. We did not prepare for the exam, he is not a french native speaker, but he graduated a french language school 12 years ago and still remembers it  Cheesy Thats all.

I took TCFQ. It is basically a light version of TCF. There are two parts - listening and speaking. For the listening part you have to have your ear tuned really well since the recordings have a lot of inserted background noise. For speaking your voice is recorded (for like 15 minutes) while you answer some basic questions. Results of the test are sent directly to Quebec Immigration.
