In Toronto, if you are trendy, you might like the King West/Queen West neighbourhoods.

Other areas of interest are the Entertainment District, Distillery District (very up & coming area, I purchased a loft in that area myself).

The Beaches is also a nice area - it has a different vibe.

This info should get you started. If you need more info, give me a holler.

Thank you so much dear. I 've been away for a while and had not seen your post earlier. Yes, West of downtown looks much better for a trendy woman than the North Eastern, Northern parts of town.

In Vancouver, if you like trendy and fancy, I would recommend Yaletown.  The seawalks and nearby marinas are very nice.  Other points of interest in the downtown peninsula are Stanley Park, Gas town and the shopping areas along Robson Street.
