Hello Guys,

I am planning to file my Canadian PR application as a Skilled worker. But I heard that Buffalo is very slow in terms of processing files so sould I try another embassy within USA?

Which embassy will process application faster than Buffalo?

Thanks,
Milind

At Buffalo it may take upto 18 months. Those who applied under new rules as FSW in Jan-09 still waiting to hear from CIC Buffalo.

You can give visa office of CHC in your home country... I hope it should be fine

Thanks PV for your reply.

I think going to home country, i.e. India, is a big risk for my wife. She is on OPT so she can't go to India until she got her H1B. And we want to get this process done within one year so is that any way that we can speed up this process? I saw many threads saying that they got PR under FSW within 8 to 10 months. And when I asked some of consultant's they are also framing the 6 to 9 months process time.
I am really confused now. Can you please give me some guidelines.

Thanks again.

There are people under FSW getting PR in 8-10 months, but I haven't heard anyone getting PR from buffalo in under 10months.

Infact we have not seen any case under new rules and under FSW getting PR from CIC Buffalo this year ( i am not sure on this, but most likely this is true)

Considering the current case backlog 18 months is what we can expect to get a PR.

Abt consulatnts... you don't have to go by their words.... this FORUM will atleast give you real experience.

Good luck.
