Hi,

My wife, son and I currently live in Australia.

My wife is a Canadian citizen and we are looking to move to Canada ASAP (she
will be the sponsor). I am a New Zealand citizen.

We have completed all the documentation from IMM 3999 and 3900 guides and I have
completed my Australian Criminal check (the results are being sent to the
Canadian consulate in Sydney as instructed on the website) and I have requested
a few other police certificates for other countries I have lived in. I have the
medical tomorrow and according to the regional guide that is to be send to the
consulate also.

My problem now is we are confused on how to proceed. Do I send the application
and other documents to Mississauga? If so, how will they be able to verify that
my application is complete without having the police check and medical (as they
will be at the Sydney consulate).

I have tried email/calling the consulate but they are very hard to get a hold
of,

Any help with this would be appreciated.

cheers,

1.  You send everything to Mississauga.  You were given a receipt for your medical which you include with the application and the sponsorship.  Don't forget the receipt for the fees.

thanks for the response,

We finally heard back from the consulate in Sydney and they said sending police certificates is fine. According to their email, the CPC in Mississauga only validates the sponsor, after that all documents that are present are sent to the visa office (in my case Sydney).

This is good news because tracking down the aussie police checks and getting them sent to me instead of Sydney would have been a pain.

cheers,
