complicated situation but  i will try to keep it simple.

Wife and I are both citizens. I was posted to Africa  by my Canadian company. My wife got pregnant and went home to have baby will join me soon. Baby has passport of birth country . Now I will be posted possibly to Europe next year. My question is:

1)is there any rule about where I can apply for the citizenship certificate?
2) I want to apply from Europe, since even if I apply from here, I will move in a few months and address etc. will change - more bureaucratic hassle.
3)In case I am posted back to Canada, can I apply from there?
4)is there a time limit on applying for a ctznship certificate?

Thank you!

4)No there is no time limit to apply as far as I know.

You can send in the application to the nearest Canadian Consulate Office. They will take the application, check everything and then send it to Canada. Ut take 15 months for overeas application and 12 month for in Canada application. There is nothing that you need to worry as you child is Canadian by decent, so take your time. Call the nearest canadian consulate, they will help you out. If you have change in address, just call them and let them know.
