Wondering if anyone is familiar with PR processing from bogota?  The visa post in Bogota has asked for my wifes passport, are we close to being done?

I checked that Trackitt link I gave you in the other post, and searched Bogota spousal applications.  There are four, but only one has been asked for a passport.  But it's been something like two months since the request with no further contact - although there was discussion in the applicant's (trackitt) notes about postal delays.  It does look like it's possible that they request the passport before they've actually made a decision to approve the ap - but still not having a consensus for Bogota processing, it's hard to say for sure.  I hope some people respond here.

Married 9'06, ap sent 3'07 & refused in 1'08 due to inadmissible son.  Appeal won 1'10.  Ap back in process 4'10, new meds requested 5'10 - submitted in June.  FBI rec'd 8'10 after 12 wks!  Approved 30Nov2010! COPR recd 05Jan2011. LANDED 31Jan2011 YAY!

Once again is there anybody out there that can help?  It has now been 5 weeks since they've had my wife's passport at the Canadian embassy in Bogota and still no sign of them returning it.  If anyone has any information i would greatly appreciate it.

I am sponsoring my wife from Colombia, can anyone share their experiences with the Bogota visa office and what to expect for the next year? My package arrived to CIC on 03/22/10, so exactly 1 week ago.  JM, have you had any updates? How is your case going?

JM: I am being processed in Coombia and read i a lot of sites the Bogota embassy can ask you r passport from 17 days before the visa is issued to 2 months..

Hi corunian I am Getting processed in Bogota too.. i sent my application on Dec2009 and im waiting right now.. so far everything have follow the normal path of other cases you can check for specific timings on trackitt.com...

i had to wait  1 month for the sponsorship approval in canada and then i didn't hear a thing about it until march when they sent me the aor letter....
The aor letter says not to contact them for 10 months.. and apparently that has been the case for everyone on trackitt, although and everybody seem to be getting passport request around this time and if i`m not worng the processing time until the passport request have been 7 months... with not as long as before processing times so... fingers close,.... hope is true

By the waay it seems there aremore of us (Bogota i mean) in trackitt...
