PCC should not be older than 3 months from date of application to CIO

Please refer to instruction guide on page 20
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

"You may begin to gather your police certificates before submitting your application to the CIO. Although you will not submit the police certificate to the CIO, you must be ready to submit them to a visa office if your application is recommended for further assessment at a Canadian visa office. When you submit the application to the visa office please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months before you submitted your application to the CIO."

So, you will need a new FBI certificate.  However, CIC is no longer requiring that state certificates be submitted with the application.  It is possible that the local visa office will request state PCCs at a later date.

Hello
When did you first apply to CIC? If you have applied at between December and January; Your FBI certificate is good. The FBI certificate can be before 3 months of your application to CIC.

whoops, yes, I missed that bit, thanks Sagarmatha, thought I was in the CEC forum - my bad.   Gullo has obviously already applied to CIO.  The certificates may be good, depending on the date of application to CIO.

Yes it is. I do not remember for whom, but one of the forum members did mention that CHC has asked for state certificate
