I just got a letter from my country's Canadian High Commission asking me 1) To go for a medical exam; 2) To pay the Right to Permanent Residence Fee; 3) Submit 5 recently-taken photographs. My dad (who's already a Canadian PR) says the photographs are to process the PR card.

Does this mean that my application is pretty much approved? What is the next step? Am I towards the end of the application process?

I just got a job offer in my home country that wants me to sign a 3-year contract, but I don't want to take up the offer if I can get to Canada within the next year.

Our applications are being processed by different visa offices but just to share my experience, when I received the request for RPRF and medical exam, I was also requested for pictures.  4 passport sized pictures instead of 5.  These were used in the medical exam.  They pasted mine on different forms that correspond to different tests.  These are not yet for the PR card but once you get a request for medical exam and RPRF and you applied this year as FSW with a job under the 38 list, more than likely you will get your permanent resident visa very soon or within this year.

Good luck!
