Hello everyone,

I am a Canadian sponsoring my wife in Lebanon, I have sent in my application and was approved as a sponsor and received notice by mail and email that I am an eligible sponsor. I am confused about something, the email I received did give me a client number, however the letter through the mail did not have it, is that normal? Fast forward, so like everyone else I have been checking daily on the application status on the cic website, and finally a change under PR, says application received. It was received on June 2nd. I called the Canadian embassy in Beirut and they told me to call the visa office in Syria, and of course they couldn't provide me with a timeline nor did they give me a general timeline. So my question now is what should I expect, am I close to having my lovely wife in my arms, or should I start looking for a plane ticket?

unfortunately u r not that close yet, immigration is a long painful road...Damascus average is 11 months now, which is actually very good comparing with Abu-Dhabi office which is 27 months....this links gives u all the time-lines for all the regions

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

here u will find lots of info and helpful members

booking a ticket for her is way too soon i think but meanwhile u could visit her, it will be another good proof for ur relationship...good luck!
