As far as I know safest way is to send passport to Canada through your relatives r friends with a authorization letter. I think courier companies dont send passport I hope that is correct

Hi

hi! we sent our passports to my husband in canada via Fedex BUT it got held up at CBSA in Alberta for about 1 week. My husband called CBSA to check why and said it was forwarded to immigration for some reason. 12 days after I sent it, it was delivered to my husband's address. I remember I filled up a form at Fedex and somewhere it asked the reason for sending such documents and I put in for visa stamping. Maybe that's why they had immigration check it.

Please note the OP was discussing India, where it is illegal to mail/courier passport in/out.  Plus an overseas office will NOT return a passport to Indian.
