I am applying outland for PR, sponsored by my husband. I live with him in Canada; I have no US address. But I'm here on a 6-month visitor record. When that expires, I will apply for a renewal, and keep doing that until my PR application is approved (or I have to leave).

So, where do I put as my residential address? I called CIC and they said "be as accurate as possible", indicating that it was my Canadian address. But my understanding is that I'm NOT a "resident" of Canada--that is what I'm applying for, right? I'm just visiting, technically.  Anyone been in this situation? What did you do? Thanks

I'm in the same situation (foreign national living in Canada on a visiting visa) and I was told that as long as I'm in Canada legally it's ok to use the Canadian address. Don't forget to provide a photocopy of your visa with your application.

THANK YOU. This makes sense, and I wouldn't have thought to put in a copy of my visitor records. Thanks.

also very confused - I read a post by Robs Luv which said only use canadian address if youve been admitted for at least 1 year. but in the guide it clearly says it must be the address where you physically live RIGHT NOW. urgh

How about the address on the passport if you have one (address I mean)?

put the address where u live (phisically are) currently....especially if u plan to stay and u have a visitor visa which u will probably want to extend (if no pr before)....even those without status would probably put their canadian address cuz that's where they live...

Lots of forum members who were just 'visiting' in Canada while their outland PR application was being processed used their Canadian address as their residential address, and no one has had any problems with doing this.
