Dear Fellow Applicants, do you all think Accra visa office is really working? There are a lot of 2009 fast track applications that are "In Process" awaiting medicals but the visa office seems not to give a standard response to all case specific enquiries sent to them by various applicants nor are they keeping to promised time lines.
Anyone have any info, thought or suggestions?

@ Jada, I wish i have an insight to what is happening at Accra visa office. I have submitted full documents to them in May and till now no AOR and E cas remains RBVO. I honestly wish we could have other nationals using accra CIO, to join the Accra trend so has to have a wider scope of movements.

Jada & Flushmedic
I am in the same boat as flushmedic as docs were delivered to Accra in May 2010 and the last time I checked eCas (3 weeks ago) it was RBVO.
I am sure something will move this month by HIS grace.
Accra VO is unpredictable at best. Wishing everyone goodluck.
Peace!!!

ANigerian and Flushmedic, I would say that both your cases are still better. Imagine having submitted full docs to Accra since Sept 2009 and then finally getting to 'In Process' April 2010 and still waiting. What is fast track about the process I wonder?

Hi tinuadebola
I just don't think it will give any more insight into what is going on, at least not at this stage. I believe the best time to order caips is when there is a delay after the status has changed to 'in process'.
Peace!!

Hi Jada, Most of the Visa Offices around Africa are so slow. I am in the same boat and sometimes i get confused , if i had missed a communication or a mail from them. I have sent an e.mail and a case specific inquiry , but got no reply. It has been a month. Most of those who i applied with them from the Asian region are all now in Canada , while i am still waiting for medicals. One friend guessed that the fast track maybe only for some visa offices. Like we all know the African Visa offices are not even flooded with applications like in Asia. So in my opinion i still can not understand w why the keep us waiting for so long. Got 2nd AOR in August 2009 and in process, June 2009 till now no medicals. Lets us hope 2011 them.

I really dont understand Jada. What exactly could be thier problem? are they understaffed or is it the typical african nonchallant attitude? one cant even make plans with accra becuase they are not predictable. Some of us were planning to start school come september and accra has not shown any serious effort on several applications pending before them. The irony of it is that they will soon go on christmas break as if they did anywork to deserve a break. Lets just pray and hope that we will see some changes in the few weeks remaining in 2010 otherwise we wait for JAN/FEB. But Jada i would have advised you order caips notes. I read a guy story on another thread who was sent medical request that never got to him and to make matters worse his status was still showing in process meanwhile medical have been sent.

The 1st paragraph got me laughing hard. There was a time I wanted to order CAIPS but then suddenly my ecas changed to "In Process" so I fashied. On 3rd August this year I sent a case specific enquiry and received the following reply: Your application is in queue for review. An exact review schedule is not yet available. However, all applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received.I sent another one 25th October and no reply yet. I am skeptical about CAIPS because of the amount of time it takes to even get a reply and I don't really have relatives in Canada to help. I read the same story you read. I guess I might have to order the stupid CAIPS.

Hi Jada, Sorry please typing error, i have been in process since June 2010. Yes i am going to order caips notes also. I was told by another friend that, they are not so interested in African immigrants and that is the reason they process their applications very slowly. Very few applications as compared to Asian region, but it takes ages.

If that is true then that is so racist. Then why collect application fees and subject one to so much stress? But I don't think that the comment is true. Someone once told me that the reason Accra is so slow is because they are servicing more than 3 countries submitting all categories of applications. Workers are overworked etc etc. It's annoying. If they are over-worked and under staffed then why not allow the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria to process immigration?

Jada I will advise you order caips through this website - www.lawpoint.caIt is slightly cheaper than the other sites. Given the length of time you've been 'in process' you need to get one and if you order now, you might just get it before Christmas when they are on break and nothing is moving anyway. Peace!!
