Q1) Can anyone please tell me what is 2nd AOR. Is it:
  • When they receive your documents and you can check the status on e-Cas mentioning supporting documents were received?
  • or is it when they review your documents for eligibility and then they send you some sort of an email confirmation

Sounds like a silly question but I have noticed that some people have mentioned that they received their 2nd AOR in 1-2 weeks after sending their full set of documents.

Q2) Also, can anyone tell me what are the general timelines for London VO in 2011? I have submitted my full docs on 25-01-2011 and so far e-Cas mentions "Received_by Visa Office". What should I expect for the coming months?

4-5 months for 2nd AOR and 8 months after that!!!! That means still 10-11 months to go in the best case scenario!!!  Shocked  Sad

But if you check timelines at canadian immigration site it still mentions average time taken 13 months for skilled worker category. The 13 months is suppsoed to be for the entire thing and here we have already completed almost 1 year and we got 1 more year to go! I had read on this forum last year that backlog was expected to clear by Mar/Apr 2011 and then things will get expedited? Any news on that.

coolguy2010: By the way your and my timelines are almost identical  Cool you applied on 4th May 2010 and got 1st AOR on 22nd Oct then you sent full docs on 17 Jan 2011 whereas I applied on 11th May 2010 and got my 1st AOR on 23rd Oct and I sent my full docs on 15th Jan 2011  Cheesy

No , not for medical, documents verification, your educational , employment verification, criminal status security check (if required before medical , otherwise after medical) those all process will screwed your mind tight to encourage to know your application status reached at medical request or not.
as per my opinion after geting 2nd AOR, I count minimum 6monhts to 10Months max for medical as per my CHC buffalo if your file going smooothly, I am waiting since >5months for medical request or something update.

I am also having almost same timeframes like Mobishaikh & coolguy as u can see from my profile and i am also still waiting for 2nd AOR.It seems that all the VOS are concerned now to emphasize on clearing post 26ht June and 29 Occupation cases, looks like they've become more skeptical to take on the pre 26th June cases.
we are the exmples of that...
my 2 cents only..

Edmonta: I agree. It is expected that new cases will be given preference as Govt promised that they will expedite post 26/6 cases. That's why I inquired that does anyone know if pre 26/6 cases will start processing faster. What some experts on this forum were saying earlier that backlog will clear by April 2011 and things are bound to get better
