Hi Everyone,

I have a question hopefully someone can advise.  We were accepted by Canadian Federal Government in October 2007 & Quebec January 2008.  The visa office in Rome received our application in November 2007, up until this point we have heard nothing and in the meantime just sitting around waiting.  I sent them an email on Friday asking them if they require any further documentation as the post in Greece is not so good and letters often get lost.  Does anyone have any idea what will happen now.  I hate not knowing, people say no news is good news surely if we were missing documents they would of asked by now.  Another thing is for 7 years I have resided in Greece but on a temprary basis six months in Greece and six months in UK as my mother was terminally ill, sadly my mother just passed away, will I still have to supply a police certificate for Greece as they are very unhelpful with information.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Taffy,
Sorry to hear about your mom... Well, I am also applying from greece and it took roughly 3 months to receive AOR and another 1.5 years to get a letter requesting supporting documentation. In regards to police certs, the rule is as follows: if you've been residing in Greece for over 6 months since you were 18 years old, then you WILL NEED the police clearance. You can apply for it through KEP office or Justice Dept. somewhere on "Mesoghion avenue" in Athens. I hope this answers your question.

Cheers
