I know that "background check" is done before medicals , and "security check" is done after medicals , i read this on the internet and i'm not very sure it is 100% correct.

Any way, i sent for London CHC asking about the status of my file (since i sent the medicals more than 2 months ago and my ecas changed to medical have been received since 20 days ago) and they replied that my case is still under (routine background check) , what does that mean? is it going to take long? why it is not over if it is a background not security check?

Thanks for your inputs in advance Seniors, Guys

Have a good day

Hi,
Time taken  for BC can be from 2 months to ONE year depending on the applicant. If you have lived in any other country or travelled out of your native country the BC will take more time than usual. In fact there is no exact time limit for completing such check. The CHC also will not explain about it. So, you have to be patient and relax until it is completed. Good luck!!
