What does App filed mean?

Does it mean when your parcel arrived at the embassy via courier or when you got approval for sponsorship.
Or does it mean when they confirmed that they had recieved your application?

I think most people either put either the day you mailed it off or the day the CIC office received it.
I first had put the day that mine was sent but later changed it to when it was received because to me that seemed to make more sense since it was actually in their hands that day. So really you could choose either.

P.S. Not sure if you were talking about where you can input the app filed date under your icon or not because that is what I was explaining.
